There are a lot of ways to celebrate the Fourth of July. You can watch fireworks, eat something grilled, wave at parade floats, and pretend you are only getting one snow cone.
This year, Nephi’s Fourth of July celebration is adding something different.
On Friday, July 3, 2026, Elite Laser Tag is bringing a live-action, objective-based laser tag tournament to Nephi City Park as part of the annual Nephi City Fourth of July celebration. The event begins at 6:00 PM and gives teams the chance to compete in Supernova, one of our most exciting mission-based game modes.
This is not ordinary laser tag.
This is not slow walking through a dark room with plastic gear.
This is live-action gaming in the park — with movement, strategy, teamwork, communication, and pressure.
What Is the Supernova Tournament?
Supernova is a 5-on-5 laser tag mission built around one objective: plant the Supernova device and defend it until detonation.
One team attacks. One team defends.
The attacking team must work together to infiltrate the field, move the Supernova device into position, and complete the plant. The defending team must protect the area, stop the attackers from planting, or fight their way back in and disarm the device before time runs out.
In other words, this is not just about tagging the most players.
It is about completing the mission.
Teams have to communicate, move with purpose, protect each other, control space, and make quick decisions under pressure. A team that rushes in without a plan can get shut down quickly. A team that waits too long may run out of time. A team that works together has the best chance of surviving the mission and coming out on top.
That is what makes Supernova so fun.
It feels like stepping inside a video game — except you are the player.
When and Where Is the Event?
The Elite Laser Tag Supernova Tournament will be held on Friday, July 3, 2026, at Nephi City Park. The tournament begins at 6:00 PM.
This event is part of Nephi’s annual Fourth of July celebration and will take place the evening before Independence Day. It is a great way to kick off the holiday weekend with something active, competitive, and memorable before the fireworks and other festivities.
Teams should plan to check in 15 minutes before their scheduled game time. Players will receive league updates and game start times by email and text, so it is important that registration information is accurate for each participant.
Who Can Play?
This event is built for a wide range of players. Whether you are brand new to Elite Laser Tag or already know how much fun objective-based laser tag can be, this tournament is designed to give you a chance to jump in and compete.
There will be three league options:
Youth League
The Youth League is for players ages 5–17. This is a great option for youth teams that are ready to squad up, make a plan, and compete against other youth players.
The goal is competition, but it is also about teamwork, communication, and having fun. Players do not need to be experts. They just need to be ready to listen, move, work together, and bring their best effort.
Family League
The Family League is for families and mixed-age teams.
Parents, kids, siblings, cousins, and brave grandparents are welcome. This league is perfect for families who want to do something active and different together during the Fourth of July celebration.
It is also a good reminder that family teamwork can be inspiring, chaotic, and occasionally suspicious when someone insists, “I had a plan,” after immediately getting deactivated.
Adult League
The Adult League is for players ages 18 and older.
This is for adults who want something more exciting than sitting on the sidelines. Whether you are competitive, strategic, athletic, or just convinced you still have quick reflexes, the Adult League gives you a chance to step into the mission and test your team under pressure.
Adults who enjoy paintball, airsoft, video games, team sports, or strategy games will especially enjoy this format.
Team Details
Each team will have 5 players.
The cost is $20 per team, with payment made at registration/check-in on July 3, 2026. Teams should come ready to compete, and no substitutes will be allowed.
Because this is a team-based event, strategy matters. You will want players who can communicate, move, cover each other, and make decisions quickly. Supernova rewards teams that work together. Individual effort helps, but teamwork wins missions.
What Should Players Bring?
Players should bring closed-toe shoes, water, and a team ready to compete.
Closed-toe shoes are important because this is an active game with running, movement, and quick changes of direction. Players should dress in clothing that allows them to move comfortably.
Water is also strongly recommended. Supernova is fast, active, and more intense than many people expect when they hear the words “laser tag.”
Before play begins, all players will review the mission rules and safety briefing. Players are expected to compete hard, play fair, follow staff instructions, and help keep the event safe and fun for everyone.
Why This Is Different from Regular Laser Tag
A lot of people hear “laser tag” and picture a dark indoor arena, slow movement, and arcade-style equipment.
Elite Laser Tag is different.
Our gameplay is built around movement, objectives, and team strategy. Players can run, take cover, communicate, push an objective, defend a position, and adapt as the match changes.
Supernova is especially exciting because the mission can shift quickly. Attackers may become defenders. A device can be dropped and fought over. A disarm attempt can change the outcome of the round. Every player matters because there are no easy do-overs.
This makes the game feel more like live-action gaming than traditional laser tag.
It is competitive, but still accessible. It is intense, but without the pain and mess of paintball or airsoft. It is active, but open to a wide range of ages and skill levels.
That combination is what makes Elite Laser Tag a great fit for a community celebration.
Why It Fits the Fourth of July Celebration
